On the 6th and 7th of September 2024, the HIMDENT FOUNDATION, through its SMILING SCHOOL PROGRAM, organized a free dental health camp at G.P.S. and J.H.S. Bhadali Khal in Duggadda Block, Pauri Garhwal. This initiative, aimed at improving oral health among schoolchildren, was made possible by the generous sponsorship of Mr. Amit Punj and Buransh Homestay.

After a scenic 4-hour drive, the HIMDENT team arrived at the schools, ready to make a difference. Led by Dr. Aditya Vohra, the camp started with an orientation lecture, educating students on the importance of dental hygiene. The lecture laid the foundation for the treatments to follow and was instrumental in engaging the students on the significance of maintaining good oral health.

The camp proceeded with check-ups and treatments. On the first day, 20 children were checked, and 10 fillings were completed. The next day, the team provided 27 permanent fillings to 20 children, ensuring they left with healthier smiles.

In a heartwarming gesture, Mr. Amit Punj distributed toothpaste to the children, reinforcing the importance of daily oral care. The teachers, clearly pleased with the success of the camp, expressed their gratitude by presenting gifts to the team during the closing ceremony.

After wrapping up the successful camp, the team returned to Dehradun, leaving behind a community enriched with knowledge and healthier smiles. This camp was yet another testament to the HIMDENT FOUNDATION’s commitment to improving dental health in remote areas through the SMILING SCHOOL PROGRAM.
