On September 18, 2024, the Himdent Foundation team arrived at G.P.S. Dimmer, continuing our mission to bring better dental health to rural communities in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand under the Smiling School Initiative. The goal was simple yet impactful—spreading smiles by providing quality dental care to the students.
The team reached the school on time and swiftly began setting up the necessary equipment for the day. Dr. Aditya Vohra, our lead dental expert, kicked off the event with an engaging and informative orientation lecture for the students and staff. His talk emphasized the importance of maintaining oral hygiene, educating students on the basics of dental care, and preventing common dental problems.
Following the orientation, our team got straight to work. We conducted thorough check-ups for each child, ensuring every student received personalized attention and care. Special care was taken to follow the highest standards, using the best filling material available. In total, we completed 14 fillings for 9 children, alleviating their dental issues and brightening their smiles.
The efforts of the Himdent Foundation were met with immense appreciation from the teachers and staff. Their warm words of encouragement reaffirmed our mission and inspired us to continue serving these underserved areas.
By the end of the camp, the students not only walked away with healthier smiles but also gained valuable knowledge on how to take better care of their teeth. As always, we remain committed to bringing dental care to those who need it most, one smile at a time.
